![]() ![]() Those are the ones i like seeing get their car impounded. headlights can be pretty expensive to replace! But some of these kids out there, just dont care, no respect for others. some have even got their headlights smashed out because they blinded the other person! I wouldn`t wanna be THAT person.lol. Some types of rare people will even turn around and go after these illegal bright light people. And for those that cant see that good at night to start with, its even worse for us/them. Illegal lighting CAN get people in an accident and even worse, sometimes killed. New laws are being written across the country just for these types of people. Mostly seeing them go after the ricer punks that think its kool to blind people. So, with several letters going out to law enforcement, we are now seeing people having their cars impounded due to blinding others on the road causing accidents. Then you`ll end up with LESS visual lighting ability.Ĭlick to expand. All the surrounding towns have complained about this with people being blinded by stupid people putting HID and LED bulbs in their halogen equipped cars. ONLY install CLEAR lense bulbs!ĪLL blue tint bulbs cancel the white out of the light. Well, when someone hits you head on because you blinded them, i wish you well, IF, you live thru it. Selfish of people that do that, they dont care about the on-coming traffic so long as THEY can see good. just pisses me off to no end getting blinded by some moron out there that wanted the brightest lights out on the highway. There is nothing more unsafe on the road when people MOD their freakin halogen headlight housings with HID bulbs. Then you can run HID bulbs in it, as the moritmoto are designed around HID bulb use. If you want better lighting, change the projectors out to a morimoto projector unit. They`re as bright as they`re going to get. These RAM trucks come with HIR halogen bulbs in the projectors. Thats not good for other drivers on the road, and not safe for YOU either. You`ll only end up with scattered lighting and glare, and blind on-coming traffic. And whatever you do, DON`T put HID bulbs in your hi-beam halogen housings either. Post #2 ^^^^^^^ĭon`t put HID bulbs in a projector headlight that was designed to use a halogen bulb. You're just going to shoot the light of the HID all over the place and blind people, and not even get a good view of the road since the light is unfocused.Follow oldhp`s advice first before you do anything. The only thing I consider unacceptable is PnP kits stuffed into halogen housings, especially 02-03 housings since they might as well be solar ovens as far as design. Here is my list of "acceptable" headlight solutions on EP's:ġ) EDM (LHD) HID Projectors from the Civic Type-R (even better if they have the optional leveling motors, ballin)- appx 900-1200 dollars USDĢ) JDM (RHD) HID Projectors from the Civic Type-R (but you need to reverse the cutoff so you're not blinding oncoming traffic)- appx 800-1000 dollars USDģ) Depo Retrofit with TSX/CTR HID projector components so that you have a gorgeous TSX headlamp cutoff inside of an EP3 headlamp housing- appx 750-900 dollars USDĤ) Depo projectors with X-clips and PnP HID kit, not a perfect cutoff but far better than PnP in a stock housing- appx 250-300 dollars USDĥ) Depo projectors with halogen lamps, or stock lights with halogen lamps ![]() Such installations can compromise visibility, create excessive glare, and violate regulations. It can be done in a perfectly functional manner. Conclusion: In conclusion, while it is physically possible to install HID bulbs in halogen projector headlights using conversion kits, it is generally not recommended due to compatibility, beam pattern, glare, and legal concerns. It's a good middle ground for budget and quality. Meh, plenty of people on this forum have been very pleased with the result they get from PnP kits with the "x-clips" that hold them into Depo projectors, even though the projector housings in the Depo's aren't specifically designed for HID's. ![]()
